His family is very poor, but through hard work, being respectful to others, and never giving up, he succeeds in becoming an outstanding basketball player. He later becomes a high school coach, where he is privileged to teach the great Wilt Chamberlain.

Author Cecil Mosenson says, “At the age of twenty-two, I was offered a teaching position as a physical education/English teacher and basketball coach at Overbrook High School in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, where one of my players was Wilt Chamberlain, who later became the best basketball player in the world.”

His teaching career had many other honors, including becoming principal at Tredyffrin/Easttown Junior High School in Berwyn, Pennsylvania, “which culminated in meeting President Ronald Reagan in the Rose Garden, since our school was selected as one of the most outstanding junior high schools in the country.”

About the Author: Cecil Mosenson now teaches at the Community College of Philadelphia. He grew up in a poor neighborhood in West Philadelphia, and he writes books because he finds satisfaction in providing messages for children. “I want children to know that they can succeed with good virtues.” He has written three other books, including It All Began With Wilt. “The awards that I have received over these many years have been warmly accepted, but the satisfaction of helping thousands of young people achieve their goals can never be measured in any terms.”
