By: Jim Flint Scion of Lewisville sponsored the Dallas stop on the RAT Tour. The event served as a launching pad for and the debut event of the recently signed agreement between Rene Isip’s Toyota of Lewisville and the sprawling 150 acre Railroad Park. The funds from the dealership are earmarked to help support community athletics and operating expenses for the facility. To commemorate the occasion Scion of Lewisville gave t-shirts and canvas bags away to more than 1,000 attendees. Rene Isip, owner of Scion of Lewisville said, “We are so pleased to support these young athletes and the City of Lewisville. You can be assured this a long-term investment." Located less than three miles from Rene Isip’s Toyota of Lewisville and just east of the Water’s Ridge development, Railroad Park encompasses three man-made lakes and more than 15 athletic fields. At a cost of approximately $21 million, Railroad Park is the largest capital project in the city’s history. The project is being funded through the quarter-cent 4B Parks and Library Sales Tax, approved by voters in September 2002 and generous donations from business in the area. Along with t-shirts and canvas bags, the Scion booth had the special xB Release 7.0 Series on display. The purple Scion xB with matching rims and tinted windows attracted the attention of all park visitors. The exclusive paint color--named Murasaki--means “purple” in Japanese. The popular xB earned the nickname of purple people-eater at the event and helped to enhanced everyone’s experience at the park. The presence of the Murasaki xB highlighted and connected the individuality of the vehicle to the unique skills of each of the skaters. At the same, Rene’ Isip’s Scion of Lewisville continues to display their own individual contribution to the community as the official, exclusive naming rights sponsor of Lewisville’s Railroad Park.
