KIALOA's 7th Annual Live Like You Paddle Scholarship: Hawaiian Values

April 5, 2010 - PRLog -- KIALOA is sponsoring their 7th annual, Live Like You Paddle, scholarship.  Ten students will receive a free KIALOA outrigger paddle. Entrants are asked to convey how Hawaiian values are learned, expressed and enhanced by participating in the ancient sport of outrigger canoe paddling. http://www.kialoa.com/scripts/prodList.asp?idCategory=33

Entries can be in the submitted in almost any form.  Past applicants used essays, poems, digital presentations, drawings and paintings to communicate the value of outrigger canoe paddling.  KIALOA will award the ten best entries with a 2010 KIALOA outrigger paddle.

“The student paddle scholarship is something we look forward to every year,” says Meg Chun of KIALOA Paddles. “Dave and I both worked in schools and the scholarship provides a way for us to stay connected.  We are constantly amazed by the creativity of the student projects and are reminded why outrigger paddling means so much to so many.”
