Rollerblading Coast to Coast for Causes: Athletes Enter Arizona

April 2, 2010 - PRLog -- ARREY, New Mexico – Two athletes are attempting to raise one million dollars for Huntington's Disease, Leukemia and Lymphoma, by rollerblading across the USA in a project called "In Motion For A  Million".  Both athletes lost a close family member to one of the diseases and are determined to raise awareness.  The athletes are currently in New Mexico and plan to be in Arizona late Sunday, April 4, entering through Three Way, AZ.

Andrea Greif, Director of Public Relations for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, applauds the tremendous effort of In Motion For A Million co-founders and participants, Dan Bowen and Steven Feigenbaum. “Since its inception, The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society has funded more than $680 million in cancer research funding. The need is critical: an estimated 912,938 people in the United States are living with, or are in remission from, leukemia, Hodgkin lymphoma, non-Hodgkin lymphoma or myeloma. The decision to take on this challenge is truly inspirational and it seems like they're having quite a bit of fun while also doing something significant for two very important causes."

The anticipated route for the team while skating through Arizona is: Three Way, Solomon, Safford, Thatcher, Pima, Fort Thomas, Geronimo, Bylas, Peridot, Globe, Claypool, Miami, Superior, Florence Junction, Apache Junction, Mesa, Tempe, Phoenix, Glendale, Peoria, Surprise, Wittmann, Morristown, Wickenberg, Aguila, Wenden, Salome, Harcuvar, Hope, Brenda, Quartzsite and Ehrenberg.

The team is inviting media members to join in on the rollerblading; media may skate along for as long as they would like.
