Former Air Force Sergeant To Reveal UFO Encounter

Military personnel, scientists, reporters and others meet in Eureka Springs to uncover the truth about UFO's and other unexplained phenomena.

April 2, 2010 - PRLog -- (EUREKA SPRINGS, AR) – In July, 1979, John Burroughs was in the U.S. Air Force, a base security officer at RAF Bentwaters, 80 miles northeast of London, England. On December 26, 1980, Sgt. Burroughs’ life was forever changed when he and several other base personnel had an encounter with a UFO at the perimeter of the airbase. After almost three decades of not remembering what he experienced, he has been working with researcher Linda Moulton Howe in an effort to recover those lost memories and experiences.

   Burroughs is one of nine speakers at the conference, which begins with registration at 8 a.m. April 9 at the Best Western Inn of the Ozarks. Presentations start at 1 p.m. that day and conclude April 11 at noon.
   Howe is a graduate of Stanford University with a Masters Degree in communication. She has devoted her documentary film, television, radio, writing and reporting career to productions concerning science, medicine and the environment. Ms. Howe has received local, national and international awards, including three regional Emmys, a national Emmy nomination and a Station Peabody award for medical programming. Other featured speakers include Stephen Bassett, a political activist, commentator, columnist, and executive director of the Paradigm Research Group. James Clarkson, a retired police sergeant with a career of 25 years in criminal investigation, addresses the conference April 10 at 9 a.m. For over 23 years he has been a member of the Mutual UFO Network (MUFON,) the world's largest civilian UFO scientific research organization. Richard Dolan has a graduate degree in history from the University of Rochester and has published many articles and spoken at conferences around the world. Part of his presentation will deal with the destruction of our political liberties as a result of the UFO cover-up. Nick Pope ran the British Government's UFO project at the Ministry of Defense. Initially skeptical, his research and investigation into the UFO phenomenon and access to classified government files on the subject soon convinced him that the phenomenon raised important defense and national security issues. He is recognized as a leading authority on UFOs, the unexplained and conspiracy theories. Jeff Wilson received a Master’s degree in General Science from Eastern Michigan University. He is director and co-founder of the Independent Crop Circle Researcher’s Association. He has been investigating crop circles that have been reported in the U.S. since 1996 and has visited well over 100 during the past 12 years. The conference concludes Sunday at 11:15 a.m. with an address by the man who organized the first Ozark UFO Conference more than two decades ago. Bill Pitts will briefly reflect on the origin and early days of the conference. He will then speak on the topic, “Project Blue Book Remembered”
