April 2, 2010 - PRLog -- Two Malaysian charities are set to receive much needed funds raised from the 6th Annual Charity Rugby Event to be held at the Shangri-La Hotel Kuala Lumpur later this month. Funds raised from this year’s gala event will be donated to Bethany Home, HSBC Bank Malaysia’s chosen charity, and Women’s Aid Organisation, the charity selected by The Royal Bank of Scotland Berhad.

Jon Addis, Executive Director & Deputy CEO of HSBC Bank Malaysia, said, “Rugby is an emerging sport in an emerging region and it has a broad appeal and projects a clean, healthy, strong and dynamic image. It is also a sport that reflects many of the key principles by which HSBC runs its business worldwide: leadership, integrity, courage and perseverance. HSBC participates in diverse rugby sponsorships across the world and each initiative aims to unite people and cultures through the positive values of the sport. This dinner also provides us with an opportunity to give back to the community as part of our ongoing Corporate Sustainability initiatives.”

Rugby legends John “Bentos” Bentley from England, Australian Tim Horan and former Scotland captain, Andy Nicol will travel to Kuala Lumpur to entertain around 450 rugby enthusiasts at the Gala Dinner with rugby presenter Justin “Sambo” Sampson as MC and Auctioneer.
