International Trade Specialist, Mr. Hal Jacobson to Host International Trade Export Training Seminar

International Trade Expert, Mr. Hal Jacobson will host the Int.Trade Center-Exporting Fundamentals which focuses on helping small businesses become export ready and identify the advantages of going global, seminar also available via webinar.

April 6, 2010 - PRLog -- The International Trade Center-SBDC, Dallas-Exporting Fundamentals will be presented by retired Quaker executive, Mr. Hal Jacobson. He will be speaking April 7th and address topics regarding ways that small business can explore potentials of export trade. Attendees can participate in person or via webinar.

Having been involved in international trade since 1941, Hal Jacobson is well known across America for his extensive International Trade expertise. In his role as Senior Consultant to International Trade Center-SBDC, Dallas' clients since 1989, Hal is devoted to his avocation guiding small to mid-size companies, and entrepreneurs, in all aspects of their importing and exporting endeavors. Hal also is associated with SCORE, the nationwide Counselors to America’s Small Business.

Hal’s International Trade career began with The Quaker Oats Company, and after a three year stint with the US Air Force, he returned to Quaker for the next 35 years. As Vice President of Quaker Oats International Operations, Hal was responsible for the direction of management of four wholly-owned manufacturing and marketing foreign subsidiaries, including planning and implementation. In previous roles within Quaker, his areas of responsibility included a myriad of export marketing activities in Latin America, the Pacific Rim countries, The Middle East and Europe. These activities encompassed product lines as diverse as bakery flour, animal and poultry feed, as well as a broad line of grocery items. He has also served as a full-time Consultant to The Ecko Housewares Company and Edward Don & Company, inaugurating their penetration of the overseas market.

The Exporting Fundamentals will be followed by the Global Market Series Export Training and Certificate Program. This seminar covers the steps in the export process with a strong emphasis on compliance. The Export Certificate Program welcomes other leading industry experts on related topics including: identifying public resources available to assist in country research and financing; learning the government agencies role in export procedures; mandatory compliance requirements regarding such topics as licensing and record keeping requirements and penalties; becoming familiar with non U.S. regulations and compulsory marks; the basics of international payment procedures; and how to work with your customs broker and freight forwarder to navigate the logistics and documentation maze.

The complete Export Session Series dates are April 15, 22 and 29, 2010.  
Morning Sessions: 8:00am-10:00am & 10:30am-noon.
Afternoon Session: 1:00-2:30 pm.
