Texas Spirit Award Winner to Host International Trade Export Training Seminar in Spanish

Texas Spirit Award Winner, Patricia Moore will host the International Trade Center-SBDC, Dallas, Export Fundamentals Training Seminar in Spanish which focuses on helping small businesses become export ready.

April 6, 2010 - PRLog -- The Global Market Series-Exporting Fundamentals will be presented by Texas Spirit Award winner, Patricia Moore. She will be speaking April 8th and address topics regarding ways that small business can explore potentials of export trade. Attendees can participate in person or via webinar. The seminar will be conducted entirely in Spanish.

Patricia Moore, an international business woman, economist, and consultant, grew up in Bogota, Colombia.  As a diplomat, she represented her country in Norway and Iceland, before moving to the United States in 1991.

She contributes to the International Trade Center, SBDC as a counselor to the North Texas Hispanic communities associations, to the Trade Commissioners of the Latin American countries represented in Texas as well as to her own local and international clientele. Mrs. Moore serves as a consultant to the Group of Latin American Consuls in North Texas (GRULA) and has implemented GRULA’s strategic projects, focusing on promoting prosperity and economic opportunities to small and mid-size companies in North Texas with GRULA countries (Ecuador, El Salvador, Mexico, Paraguay and Peru).  Patricia chaired in 2008 the summit,  Doing Business in Latin America, a flagship program produced in partnership with the Greater Dallas Hispanic Chamber of Commerce and the International Trade Center, SBDC. As a mentor guest of the Office of Citizen Exchanges, US Department of State, she recently visited Peru to take part in the final stage of the project “Creating Economic Growth to Fight Poverty and Strengthen Democracy: A Project for Young Peruvian Business Leaders”.

Patricia  has received several Awards for her accomplishments in Dallas including: Special Recognition by  Laura Miller, Mayor of the City of Dallas for creating the First International Book Fair in July, 2006; recognition by the MEED center for contributions to the minority business community in 2009 and the Spirit of Texas Small Business Award 2009,  presented by the State of Texas.

The Exporting Fundamentals will be followed by the Global Market Series Export Certificate Program. This seminar, offered  in English, covers the steps in the export process with a strong emphasis on compliance. The Export Certificate Program welcomes other leading industry experts on related topics including: identifying public resources available to assist in country research and financing; learning the government agencies role in export procedures; mandatory compliance requirements regarding such topics as licensing and record keeping requirements and penalties; becoming familiar with non U.S. regulations and compulsory marks; the basics of international payment procedures; and how to work with your customs broker and freight forwarder to navigate the logistics and documentation maze.

The complete Export Session Series dates are April 15, 22 and 29, 2010.  
Morning Sessions: 8:00am-10:00am & 10:30am-noon.
Afternoon Session: 1:00-2:30 pm.
