March 30, 2010 - PRLog -- BELGIUM, ANTWERP – March 30, 2010 – From Friday April 2nd till Sunday May 30th 2010, art painter Jef Van Campen will exhibit his new work at Galerie Van Campen & Rochtus (Verschansingstraat 52, 2000 Antwerpen-Zuid). This new work does not only include his well known paintings, but also a new art object, painted Bolders (bollards).

Official opening of the exhibition is on April 1st, 2010 at 19:00 hr.
Bolders or bollards are the typical vertical posts you see on a quay for mooring. Jef Van Campen found in this typical form a new challenge and maritime inspiration for his talent. Jef had replica’s made in fiberglass/plastic in the same size as the original (height 61cm, width at the bottom 35cm and width at the top 56cm). He then painted them in his workshop on his own well known artistic fashion.
The replica’s were made from bolder (bollard) number 187 at the quay of the old part of the Port of Antwerp, hence the name “Project 187″.
