March 26, 2010 - PRLog -- WEST PLAINS, Mo – Antique tractor enthusiast, online show host, and West Plains, Mo resident Michael Hinton announced today that www.TheAntiqueTractorShow.com, the internet’s premier vintage farm machinery site, has been selected as one of the top thirty finalists in the VerticalResponse ‘New Deal’ for Small Business Competition.

VerticalResponse, Inc. (San Francisco, Ca), launched The ‘New Deal’ Competition on February 8, 2010 as a way to help grow small businesses. Entry in the contest was open to any small business (as defined by the SBA guidelines), and consisted of a YouTube video submission of five minutes or less answering three questions: (1) What does your business do? (2) What makes you do what you do? (3) What will you do with the money if you win?

The competition was inspired by recent media attention of the President’s plea for banks to increase their lending to small business and his focus on job creation; which is similar to the New Deal initiative Franklin D. Roosevelt launched in 1933. Public voting opened March 23 and continues through April 9. Final first, second and third place winners will be announced April 12, 2010.

Hinton created www.TheAntiqueTractorShow.com in mid-February 2010, with the idea that it will come to serve as a ‘virtual home and showcase window’ for a growing community of antique tractor enthusiasts who indulge their passion for buying, restoring and displaying antique farm machinery. The new website launched on March 6th and will feature:

• An expanding series of video episodes
• Helpful industry page links
• A collection of antique tractor photos
• and much, much more…

Inspiration and planning for the site began when Hinton turned to the internet several years ago to source his vintage farm machinery collection, locate haulers, restoration parts and tractor event information. “The true potential of this site will grow with each visitor’s participation – as they share their expertise and ideas on what topics they’d like episodes developed for.” Hinton commented. “Our goal is to carry on the legacy of keeping the great tractors of the past, ever present long into the future.”
