Newport Dunes To Host Weekend Of Easter Festivities April 2-4

March 26, 2010 - PRLog -- Newport Dunes Waterfront Resort will host its 18th annual Easter weekend celebration Friday, April 2 through Sunday, April 4. The weekend of family events will include a hunt for more than 6,000 Easter eggs hidden on the beach, a visit by the Easter Bunny, bounce houses, craft sessions, egg decorating, a sunrise church service, cottontail bike parade and an endless Champagne brunch.
Festivities will kick off on Friday, April 2 when the children of children of RV guests will be encouraged to decorate their own baskets using flowers, seashells, ribbons and other materials at 10 a.m. After finishing a fun-filled scavenger hunt, youngsters will continue the festivities with an afternoon of egg decorating where youngsters can dye, glitter and paint thousands of Easter eggs starting at 1 p.m.
On Saturday, April 3, guests may start the day with a massive Easter egg hunt at 9 a.m. before heading off to a pancake breakfast complete all the trimmings Youngsters from the community are invited to search the resort’s beachfront and grassy knolls for more than 6,000 eggs. Scattered about will be several “hidden treasure” eggs containing cash as well as a special egg redeemable for a brand new bicycle.
Easter Sunday, April 4, will begin at 7 a.m. with a sunrise service overlooking the bay. From 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., any foodie will love the extravagant Champagne brunch buffet which will be served at the Dunes’ Back Bay Bistro where guests can enjoy endless Champagne and Mimosas. The brunch will feature an array of breakfast options including scrambled eggs, eggs Benedict, bacon, sausage, potatoes, French toast, muffins and pastries. Among the buffet selections there will be a “create your own omelet” station, a carving station with prime rib or roasted turkey, an array of seafood including grilled salmon, shrimp and crab legs and a chocolate fountain with fresh strawberries, marshmallows, pineapple and Oreo cookies. Easter festivities will conclude Sunday afternoon with a Cottontail Bike Parade where families staying at the restort can decorate their bikes and take part in an afternoon group ride around scenic Newport Bay.
