Ancient knowledge preserved and recreated in materials such as granite, marble, wood, and acrylic; provide rich historical art for the home and office.
The collection includes various design elements and personal customizations options for tracking specific dates, seasons, anniversaries and astronomical events. Gnomonics is the art and science of creating accurate devices to track the hours of the sun.
Each custom made Gnomonic laser design has to be properly calibrated during the computer design process for the intended final destination where the device will be used. Calibration includes location information such as City, Province, Country or geo-coordinates such as longitude and latitude. Possible additional details include orientation of device, whether it will reside on a flat parallel surface, vertical on a wall, or some deviation of.
The collection includes devices such as, Polar Style which is the most common sundial, Analemmatic style in which the gnomon or pointer is moved according to date, Cylindrical sundials, and Bifilar sundials. Each type of device is custom made to fit the destination location, and can include personal or other pertinent information.
