Famed Surfer Wingnut Teams Up With GoofBoard

GoofBoard Products is pleased to announce that Robert “Wingnut” Weaver has agreed to
lend his persona and bountiful surfing presence to promote the GoofBoard™. Wingnut
will appear in advertisements and videos demonstrating and advocating the merits of the
GoofBoard, a balance board for surfers. GoofBoard designer and founder, Armin Brown,
comments that, “GoofBoard and Wingnut just seem to go together. Both are a lot of fun,
but serious about surfing.”
Wingnut adds, “I’ve seen all the other balance boards, but to me the GoofBoard is the
first to get it right. I’m happy to become part of the team, because I believe in the
product and ‘Goof’ on it nearly every day.”
ABOUT GOOFBOARD
The GoofBoard is a balance board for surfers. It rides RAIL-TO-RAIL, a motion truer to
the surfing experience. Most balance board designs rely on a rocking motion with a
rolling cylinder placed underneath the board, perpendicular to the length of the board.
The GoofBoard’s “pipe” is positioned parallel to the length of the board, thus creating a
motion that feels like surfing.
Brown explains its development, “I tried another balance board and liked it well enough,
but it didn’t feel like surfing . . . more like a one man stand-up teeter-totter. After
searching for a balance board that rode rail-to-rail and finding none, I made a crude
prototype and found it gave the surfing dynamic I was after.”
The board dimension of 44” x 15” gives ample room to practice a full range of footwork.
The basic motion of the GoofBoard simulates trimming down the face of a small wave.
Besides being a lot of fun, regular use of the GoofBoard helps advances surfing skills by
increasing strength, balance, and control. It’s recommended for ages 7 and up and for all
surfing experience levels.
