-- Two internationally-
recognized bestselling authors and experts on leadership will be the keynote speakers at the Project Leadership Forum, set for May 13-14 at Harrisburg University of Science and Technology in PA.
Art Petty, popular leadership author, management educator, two-decade experienced technology executive and a self-described zealot for project management effectiveness, kicks off the forum with a 9 a.m. keynote on May 13. His keynote, Value Creation Through Project Leadership, is guaranteed to challenge conventional thinking as he explores the link between an organization’
s ability to successfully execute its core business strategy with the leadership skills and style of its project managers. An experienced senior executive and management educator bringing global marketing, sales and strategy capabilities to his clients, Petty is the author of the Alltop-listed Management Excellence blog and popular weekly Leadership Caffeine posts. He is co-author of the book, Practical Lessons in Leadership-A Guidebook for Aspiring and Experienced Leaders, and a frequent speaker and workshop presenter on leadership, performance and project and product management. He is founder of Strategy & Management-Innovations, LLC where he serves small and midsized firms with strategy and marketing consulting, and offers Building Better Leaders™, an on-line training and development program. Prior to forming Strategy & Management Innovations, LLC, he served a number of the world’s premier technology firms as a marketing and sales professional and senior executive. Additionally, Petty is a management educator at DePaul University, The Illinois Institute of Technology and The Academy for High Performance at McHenry County College.
The DNA of Leadership is the focus of the keynote address by Judith Glaser, one of the most innovative and pioneering change agents and executive coaches in the consulting industry. Attendees of the presentation can learn interactively how to change their organization’
s cultural DNA for improved team performance and collaboration, with lasting results. Her presentation is scheduled for 9 a.m., Friday May 14. This highly energizing session is designed for project management leaders, managers, and executives who are responsible for the success of others and who can influence the work culture of an organization that aspires to be among the best places to work. The session is based on new research coming out of Neuroscience, the fastest growing field of research in the world today – which is unlocking the code on success and failure in all relationships at work. This powerful neuroscience research explains what creates conflict; what erodes trust in relationships and partnerships;
why employees step back from taking risks or being accountable;
and why win/lose mindsets can take over. Glaser is founder and CEO of Benchmark Communications, Inc., co-founder and chairman of The Creating WE Institute and founding partner of Creating WE LLC. She is the author of several bestselling books on leadership, including Creating WE and The DNA of Leadership.
The theme for the Project Leadership Forum is Applying Leadership to Project & Program Management. The forum focuses on how to increase project ROI by using leadership practices to influence results and reduce failure rates. The forum will examine best practices and lessons learned from accomplished project managers through interactive sessions and actual project case studies. Participants will work closely with leadership gurus to begin creating a personal action plan to develop the leadership competencies that will make them more effective project leaders.
The Project Leadership Forum will include case studies and planning sessions with experts, making it ideal for project managers, executives, and program and portfolio managers from IT, construction, health care, consulting, manufacturing, government and other organizations using project management.
The University is a perfect site for the forum as it is home to a Master of Science degree program in Project Management that has received Registered Education Provider (REP) status through the Project Management Institute (PMI®), providing preparation for the nationally recognized PMP certification.
