March 17, 2010 - PRLog -- Hauppauge, New York, November 13, 2009—Aventura Technologies, Inc., the industry leader in advanced digital video recording technology announced today the release of its latest camera offering with a hammerhead style long-range infra-red laser pan-tilt-zoom camera.

The LTZ Camera Series feature long-range infra-red illumination using laser technology. Detailed images can be observed, detected and tracked miles away. The patent pending independent laser zooming technology allows the user to control the concentration and direction of the light array ("Searchlight Technology"). Optional video content analytics adds a proactive element deterring threats before they occur.

The LTZ Series of cameras from Aventura Technologies, Inc. is an exciting revolutionary advancement in surveillance solutions. Long-range infra-red imaging using laser technology allows observation, detection and auto-tracking of detailed images and objects up to miles away. The dual-head, multi-sensor cameras feature a rugged design meant to withstand extreme environments and rotate at a rapid 360° per second. A 18x - 36x Wide Dynamic Range optical zoom with image stabilization is placed alongside a laser camera utilizing a 20mm – 100mm telephoto laser lens. Standard configurations feature electronic zooms and communicate RS-232 and RS422 with support for multiple protocols. Optional video content analytics adds a proactive element deterring threats before they occur.
Frances Cabasso, Aventura CEO said, “Long-Range Laser technology offers features and functionality lacking in thermal imagery. While FLIR cameras can “detect” subjects and objects at long distances through challenging conditions they fall short in providing “detail.” Laser technology has the capability to penetrate glass as well as provide crystal clear shots to answer the call of identifying details as opposed to merely general situation awareness.”

Ms. Cabasso added, “Finally there is a long range answer that provides identification. We believe that laser technology has many different applications and Aventura intends to exploit the market with a number of variations to address particular industry concerns.”
