Free Community Resource Fair March 20, 2010 - Unity On The Bay Miami, Florida

March 17, 2010 - PRLog -- Miami, Florida (March 15, 2010) – As a response to the wide range of issues affecting our community Unity on the Bay is proud to announce that it will be holding its 2nd Annual One Day FREE Community Resource Fair, March 20, 2010. The Unity in the Community: Support for Everyday Challenges will address issues affecting our community, in partnership with over 50 private and public entities that will join together to provide much needed information, and support for anyone affected by current economic conditions or unexpected life changes.  

"This event is being offered to the entire Miami community as a one-stop shop to access vital information about goods, services and programs that can support all people in need.  Last year's event was a success and helped many, so we're back again hoping to support everyone in the area with even more resources," says Rev. Chris Jackson, Senior Minister of Unity on the Bay.  

From overwhelming credit card debt to imminent loss of home through foreclosure, or facing illness without insurance to how to dealing with the red tape of  applying for food stamps. This community outreach program takes place from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm at Unity on the Bay, 411 NE 21st Street, Miami, Florida.

“There are very few people in our community whose lives have not been affected by today’s current economic crisis. I applaud Unity on the Bay for their dedication and commitment to ensuring the well-being of our residents,” says City of Miami Commissioner, Marc Sarnoff.

Services will be directed at issues ranging from unemployment, food stamps, immigration and mental health services to proactively managing health issues with screenings for HIV AIDS, high blood pressure and diabetes. There will also be financial services support such as banks, real estate and debt consolidation companies ready to help with information and advice on foreclosures, loan modifications, bankruptcies, credit card issues and much, much more. Along with all this information, there will be food and fun for the kids.
