Famous Places of Interest in Central Khanh Hoa Province

Vinpearl Land

Doc Let tourist site
Doc Let is situated in coastal Ninh Hoa district, about 50 km north of Nha Trang. The name of Doc Let (Let slope) comes from long white sand dunes of dozens of metres high with pine trees separating the main land from the sea. Crossing the sand dunes is the only way to reach the sea. Once overcoming the sand dunes, you will step on a very wonderful beach with fine sand and contemplate expanses of sand along the seaside of 10 km long with pure blue clear sea-water and thousands of light waves inshore. Ashore natural sceneries and water surfaces are very attractive to visitors. This place is also near the renowned Van Phong Bay, one of the international tourist sites surveyed and highly valued for future tourism development by the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO/OMT). Coming to Doc Let, you will have a chance to visit a fishing village, Hon Khoi salt-field, Hon Heo area - an old military base.

Ba Ho Stream
Ba Ho is a stream originating from the top of Hon Son Mount (over 660 m high), flowing between the two sides of rocky mountains into the fields of Phu Huu hamlet, Ninh Ich village and then pouring into Nha Phu swamp. The stream gets its name as, in its upper stream, on the way through the forests and mountains, it opens three times in width right in the mountains into three continuous lakes with spectacular landscapes. Each stream bears many legends told by the local people. To explore Ba Ho and contemplate the scenery, you must prepare both belongings and spirit because the First Lake is nearly 1 km from the Second Lake but the route is very rocky. From the Second Lake to the Third Lake, you must cross the way covered by bushes although the distance is only 300 - 400 m.

Hon Chong
At the heart of Nha Trang City is Hon Chong (Husband Stone) tourist site where you can bathe at sea, climb the mountain and admire the sea. This is a large freestone system with many shapes overlapping each other, running to the sea. A group of smaller rocks, located east of the foothills, are known as Hon Vo (Wife Stone). There are many interesting legends about Hon Chong but the most stunning is a strange big rock on the tip of the Hon Chong: The mark of a huge hand with a palm and five fingers in the stone. It looks like a giant placed its hand on the rock when the earth was created.

Nha Phu Lagoon

The beach is on an island but waves are not big, because they run towards the land. Behind is Hon Tre Mountain, standing like a wall blocking the sea waves. From December 2003, the largest resort in Vietnam, five-star Hon Ngoc Viet, was built in this place with a starting investment capital of VND450 billion, 500 rooms, 3 detached villas, and a 5,700 sq.m swimming pool. Thap Ba Hot Spring Centre
Thap Ba Hot Spring Centre is 4 km north of the centre of Nha Trang City. This is a unique and unprecedented health care service in Vietnam: soaking, bathing in mineral mud; soaking, bathing in hot mineral mud; lukewarm mineral swimming-pool and hot spraying pond. Hot mineral water like silicate mud is recognised clinically to be good for health. Vietnam Institute of Oceanography
Located on an elevated site at No. 1 Cau Da Street, Nha Trang City, Khanh Hoa province, the Vietnam Institute of Oceanography, set up in 1923, is one of the oldest scientific research institutions in Vietnam and is considered the largest keeping place of sea research works and ocean objects in Southeast Asia. Visiting the institute, you will see the maritime creature museum with more than 20,000 exhibits and more than 4,000 sea and freshwater creatures that have been collected over the years.

Dai Lanh Beach
Dai Lanh is adjacent to the boundary of Phu Yen and Khanh Hoa provinces, about 80 km from Nha Trang city and 30 km from Tuy Hoa town. Starting from Tuy Hoa town, crossing the Ca Pass - a renowned winding pass in Vietnam that separates Phu Yen and Khanh Hoa, you will find a wide, long beach featuring blue waters, sparkling sunshine and many boats travelling to and fro.
Dai Lanh Beach is created by a type of very fine sand and extremely clear water that you can see through to the seabed. With a narrow sloping angle, you can swim very far from the coast. You can also discover a source of freshwater falling into the sea. From Dai Lanh, you can visit fishing villages in Khai Luong, Dam Mon - the eastern tip of Vietnam, Vung Ro port in the north - a place well-known for navy operations of the Vietnamese military at the wartime.
