March 16, 2010 - PRLog -- Three years ago today was the announcement of Menu Foods Pet Food recall; it turned out to be the deadliest pet food recall in history.  Estimates of 300,000 dogs and cats have died or are still suffering from this 2007 Melamine Pet Food Recall alone; countless thousands more have died or become ill from various other pet food recalls since.  No laws have changed, no lawsuits have been settled, none responsible have been jailed.  One Pet Family decided enough was enough.

Spokesperson for the anonymous Pet Family Susan Thixton states “I can’t begin to tell you how many emails I receive each week asking if the Menu Foods lawsuit settlement will ever be disbursed.  These people have buried their pet, some numerous pets, and three years later are still making payments on vet bills.  Others, three years later continue to nurse kidney damaged pets ravaged from melamine. Everyone of authority has ignored these pets.  Today they try to hide it; today poisoned pet foods have been silently recalled – pulled off store shelves without public notice.  Silent recall or public recall, pets are still becoming sick and dying.  Now, thanks to this compassionate family, all of these pets will be remembered; why they died will be remembered.”

Thixton shares that she was contacted by the anonymous Pet Family months ago; she learned that this family had big plans to give to suffering Pet Owners.  The ‘gift’ is called Vindication.  Vindication is five acres of land near Keystone Lake in Tulsa, OK.  “Not only did this family gift the land to all pet owners, they are grooming the property into beautiful gardens with breathtaking pathways.  I say ‘breathtaking’ because each pathway will be lined with stones, each handmade with the name of a Pet that has died or is still ill due to a pet food.  There will be thousands of pathway stones…each personalized with the name of a pet.  Unbelievable!  I am honored to be a part of this.” states Thixton.  The donors will continue to place pathway stones as long as Pets continue to become ill or die due to a pet food.  There is no cost to Pet Owners to include their Pet sickened or killed by pet food, Pet Owners simply need to complete a form hosted at TruthaboutPetFood.com.

Thixton shares that Vindication is far more than a piece of land groomed into a garden, “It will be a beginning, a piece of solid ground to remember and honor the thousands of Pets pet food has stolen from their families.  The dead or sick have never been counted.  Vindication will count them; the numbers…the image of thousands of pathway stones each with a Pet name will be startling; it will be undeniable proof that change is desperately needed.”

The Opening of Vindication will be June 12, 2010.  Pet Owners from around the world will join together to remember the Pets stolen from them by pet food.  Special events will take place throughout the day ending with a dinner on the grounds.
