Visioning - The Eight Signs of an Unrealized Life

Visioning helps you to start living your life toward what you want rather than away from what you don't want. Bottom line, you begin to live more into love rather than from cautiousness and fear.

March 15, 2010 - PRLog -- Making vision boards (or dream boards) has become popular in the motivational speaker's world. Many of us made vision boards as children - remember the collages you made on poster board of the things you thought were cool? And the altered art objects (wine bottles, mirrors) that you decoupaged with pictures that pleased you or noted some special event? Visioning is much the same, except that you take the time to ferret out what your dream life would be like, and then make a vision board to match your thoughts.

Those of us who lead over-committed and busy lives run the risk of getting away from our deepest vision of ourselves. In fact, we can slip into negative visions - I'll never get a promotion, I can't get a new job, my kids will never do well in school, I'm tired and will never have youthful energy again. We can slip into a sameness and constancy in our days that is not really how we want to live - we just are into a habit of ignoring our deepest wishes and desires. This can get so entrenched that we won't even allow ourselves to think about what we really want - or we dismiss it and say "I haven't a clue and it doesn't matter."

Finding and starting to live from your deepest vision for your life benefits you in many ways. Your health, your emotional well-being, your wealth, and your spirit all take sustenance from your dreams. Taking even small steps toward recognizing and visualizing your vision can have profound results. I've had the experience of being assigned an essay about "my future life" which I wrote, then promptly forgot. Fully a decade later, the pages fell out of the back of a binder and I opened up the pages to see what it was, only to glance at it and realize that every bit of what I had "visioned" had actually come true! Visioning helps you to start living your life toward what you want rather than away from what you don't want. Bottom line, you begin to live more into love rather than from cautiousness and fear.

Signs of living "off" vision include:

" Chronic health problems (headache, neck ache, backache, etc.)
" Lack of sleep or poor sleeping habits
" Finding it hard to get up and get going in the morning
" Fearful about where your life is taking you
" Being in a job you don't like
" Feeling trapped because of money issues
" Feeling hopeless and stuck
" Living in a certain way due to pressures from family or spouse.

If you have never done visioning before, you'll be happily amazed at the energy and clarity that you'll gain from making a vision board for yourself. If you are experienced at visioning, revisiting your board a few times a year is a good way to remain true to your dreams.
