Newly Published Inspirational Book Employs Motivational Quotes to Confront Life’s Daily Obstacles

March 13, 2010 - PRLog -- Author Ruben Britt announces the release of his latest book, Reflection & Restoration – Quotes for Self-Empowerment and Motivation. “I was inspired to write this book over a year and a half ago because I saw how a number of people in this country were suffering, losing their jobs and their homes along with facing various setbacks in their lives,” Britt says.

Choosing a novel approach to written inspiration, Britt drew on methods of normally used in sports. “As a former coach and student athlete, I was exposed to the concept of utilizing motivational quotes to inspire the team before a game. There have been many times when this approach has helped to empower the lowly underdog and spurred them on to an upset win over a heavily favored team. It is with this approach that I am trying to convey to the reader self-empowerment and inspiration, which will help him or her overcome adversity in an imperfect world.”

Reflection & Restoration includes motivational quotes derived from successful individuals in various professions including educators, world leaders, coaches, athletes and entertainers, along with selected proverbs from various cultures, including the Bible. The book is divided into seven sections, including Understanding Love and Friendship and Things to Live By, for easy reading.

“The motivational quotes in this book are intended to provide a source of inspiration and a logical approach for confronting the many obstacles that are encountered in daily living,” Britt says. “Barriers may sometimes throw you off course, but that should not change your destination. The greatest gift that anyone has is the mind, because it allows one to create and do great things. Success is within all of us if we have a goal, a plan of action and a belief in oneself.”

Presently, he is the assistant director of the Career and Academic Planning Center at Rowan University in Glassboro, New Jersey. Britt has written two other books: Lakota, a children’s book on cultural diversity intended for children ages 5 to 9; and Black and Powerful: The Career Guide for Tomorrow’s Top Leaders, a career planning guide for high school and college students
