March 12, 2010 - PRLog -- LaDainian Tomlinson is one of the greatest running backs of all time but last year his production took a major decline. After so many great years with the San Diego Chargers the team released him in February.

Since the start of free agency, last week, Tomlinson has been rumored to play for a few different teams. In the past few days Tomlinson was at the Minnesota Vikings head quarters and some thought he might sign with them before he left.

Sure, the Vikings already have star running back Adrian Peterson, but they lost Chester Taylor last week to the Chicago Bears. Taylor was a valuable backup running back that helped the team stay on course when Peterson was out of the game.

While Tomlinson is still a valuable runner to have in an organization, he's probably not a starter anymore.

Playing behind a runner like Peterson would help Tomlinson stay fresh throughout the season and probably perform better on the field.

Even though this fit makes sense the Vikings failed to give Tomlinson a contract before he left Minnesota. Still, the team could offer him a deal at any time so we will see if Tomlinson ends up playing with them after all.
