By: Paula Boutwell Central Florida area au pairs held their party recently at Florida Mall Build-A-Bear Workshop. Led by AuPairCare Area Director, Paula Boutwell, over a dozen au pairs from 10 different countries stuffed and named teddy bears while also creating individual cards wishing the recipient of their bear good wishes in their own language. These special international bears will then be donated to the children of Ronald McDonald House in Orlando. In 1989, AuPairCare became one of the first agencies designated by the U.S. Department of State to legally sponsor au pairs to come to the United States. We have successfully placed more than 30,000 au pairs across the U.S. Our au pairs come from over 40 countries and have been fully screened by our overseas representatives. They all have previous childcare experience, speak English, attend a four-day AuPairCare training program, and have a sincere interest in living with an American family and providing quality childcare for twelve months. Ronald McDonald House Charities of Florida provides a "home away from home" for families and their seriously ill or injured children who travel far to receive treatment at hospitals, and supports children's immunization and dental programs. Founded in St. Louis in 1997, Build-A-Bear Workshop is the leader in interactive retail. The Company currently operates more than 400 Build-A-Bear Workshop stores worldwide. # # # About Au Pair Care: Au pairs are young adults between ages 18-26 from another country who live with a family and provide live in childcare. Au pairs work up to 45 hours per week in exchange for the opportunity to live with an American family. Au pairs have previous childcare, speak english, are educated, and have been carefully screened and trained by Au Pair Care. Since 1989, we have assisted families nationwide in finding the best live-in childcare available. When you welcome an au pair from another country into your home, you not only gain superior childcare assistance, you expand your child's horizons by introducing them to new languages, cultures and traditions all in the safety of your own home.
