March 11, 2010 - PRLog -- Hollywood’s most prestigious live entertainment venue, The Music Box proudly reveals their new facelift, unveiling the beauty of the venue’s original 1920’s Hollywood design with an extended, three-day celebration of music, art and fashion March 19-21. The weekend features a red carpet fashion and art show presented by Project Ethos on Friday, Mar. 19, world-renown House DJ Sander Kleinenberg on Saturday, Mar. 20 and internationally-known London dance duo Groove Armada on Sunday, Mar 21, 2010.

“From the Golden Age of Hollywood, through mid-century modifications, The Music Box brings a revival and full-scale revamping to this historic venue, a Hollywood legend and soon to be the future of LA entertainment,” says Preston Gaspar, The Music Box’s Director of Special Events.  “It was essential to give the venue a dynamic facelift and a complete sound and lighting overhaul to deliver the best possible experience.”  “These modifications, along with an all star team to produce in-house events, positions The Music Box to be the premier venue for live music, electronic music and special events.”

The Music Box continues its long relationship with Goldenvoice to provide the music industry’s most talented acts.  Announcing a new partnership with Insomniac Events to bring the most sought after DJs from around the world every Saturday night, The Music Box is setting a new standard for LA venues.

The Music Box has been at the very center of Hollywood's dazzling nightlife for nearly a century. The storied edifice, which for decades has been a lavish sanctum of glamour and spectacle, commissioned one of the nation’s top designers, Roy Nachum, to help carefully recreate the baroque interior of this historically significant relic of Hollywood’s Golden Age. With Nachum’s relentless attention to detail and unique, progressive design flare, The Music Box has redefined ‘sophistication.’

Both an accomplished painter and a peerless designer, Nachum’s designs achieve a perfect balance between the historic and the futuristic. While many of the venue’s original details have been refurbished, Nachum’s attention to detail, avant-garde expertise, punk aesthetics, and his control of light and space are particularly evident in the venue’s completely transformed grand entrance.

Walking into the remodeled The Music Box is a dramatic experience with the original flourishes, featuring a moodily lit, ante-chamber design. Luxurious theater curtains surround the ballroom and Bosch art imagery adorns the walls. The new design also features plush private booths with optimal viewing, an easily accessible two-sided main bar and new checkered dance floor. The versatility of the space has been greatly expanded by replacing the original sloped seating with a level floor. The balcony offers a most unique party perspective with a commanding view of the main stage.  To complete the venue’s Hollywood makeover, the marquee has been updated by adding lighting from the original 1926 movie theater design.

One of only two venues in Hollywood with a fully permitted 24-hour operations license, The Music Box allows a late night experience to last as long as deemed necessary. After the current renovations, the total capacity of the venue will accommodate over 1500 guests, covering over 30,000 square feet.
