UMSL Offers Three Information Sessions for Nursing Degree Programs
Attendees will learn about bachelor’s and master’s degree completion programs in partnership with St. Charles Community College, St. Louis Community College and Mineral Area College
On March 22, at 5:30 p.m., in partnership with St. Charles Community College, nurses will learn how UMSL can help them achieve their goals of obtaining either a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (RN to BSN) or a Master’s with Family Nurse Practitioner (MSN–FNP) option. Both groups will meet in the St. Charles Student Center, with the RN to BSN group meeting in Room 205 and the MSN–FNP group meeting in Room 206. For additional information call St. Charles Community College at (636) 936-8675.
The March 23 informational meeting will specifically discuss UMSL’s MSN–FNP program in partnership with Mineral Area College (MAC) in Park Hills, Mo. Attendees will meet at 5:30 p.m. at MAC, Technology Building Room T107. The MSN program is for students in the College of Nursing’s Family Nurse Practitioner track and is a three-year part-time commitment. As an FNP, UMSL graduates will be able to work in a variety of settings including ambulatory care centers, retail clinics, physician offices and independent nurse practitioner offices.
“The program was good in that it still allowed you to be able to work and take care of a family while also furthering your education,” said Misty Birney of Desoto, Mo., who will graduate in August. “I would recommend the program. It’s very convenient.”
For more information regarding the meeting and program at MAC call (573) 518-2266.
