March 11, 2010 - PRLog -- Dashing through the wasteland the web can be—when you find yourself in a tube you slid down because you carelessly clicked on a seemingly harmless link—can be a mercy dash for one’s hard drive. On one such occasion, I came across one of John Reyer’s vacant lots with links to his Kindle eBook “The Guy.”

I wanted to keep running, thinking that a virus could only catch me if I loitered to click on more nasty links. The “X” in the top right corner of the browser was only a slide of my mouse away, but the banner that read “Strangers in the Nite” was too alluring for this writer of a woman’s magazine.

The phony URL under the title read “dubdubdub.strangersinthenite.unorganized” LMLA-ink’s sarcasm had jumped from human to machine; their sadism spares none, short-circuiting bots just like they fool plenty in the GAME.

****Please note this site is a Promotional and Marketing site for a SKIHIPR Vertical Marketing Program, “Strangers in the Nite.”…

His arse covering form of a disclaimer is camouflaged in the site’s fluorescent color scheme, offering the “desperate” no warning whatsoever that they are scraping the bottom of the barrel.

The characters who play on this cheesy site range from a drunk—who obviously struck out with some bimbo he tried it on; he calls her “Perfect Smile” but we can tell she is a lost soul from how she adopts the handle he gives her—to a nympho named MRS. X who pleads for a gentleman who caught her in the act, to contact her for group sex.

However, I did find a piece of information worth reporting. John Reyer’s next eBook which was meant to be “West End Girl,” is now going to be titled “April’s Fool.”

This piece of information prompted me to call LMLA-ink to confirm the news.

As I waited for John Reyer to come to the phone, I heard “U Remind Me” by Usher playing in the background; I decided to Google the track and go to YouTube to hear it for myself.

“Hey, how’s it?” I heard as the song began. As I asked John Reyer my first few questions, he answered them with a simple “Yes” even though one of them was a leading question, “Why did you change the name this far out from starting the eBook?”

When I repeated the question, his answer was complete, and it had something to do with Metofeaz being adamant that if they used the former title, other writers might pre-empt them by writing stories based on the Pet Shop Boys track with information LMLA-ink had leaked about the new eBook. Their paranoia continues with suspicion that lawyers were already waiting for them to invest long hours in the new project, only to sue them at “The End,” claiming ownership on behalf of Pet Shop Boys for the use of the track.

When I pointed out that I had seen Metofeaz’s post on “Strangers in the Nite,” he asked whether I was aware the site was a Vertical Marketing Program, and none of the links to posts by MRS X and company worked.

When I heard John Reyer put it like that, I almost felt disappointed at his being so frank with me, not allowing me the privilege to argue that he’s still a player in the GAME.

I forgot to ask what the new story was all about, but a few days later, I received an email advising me “METOFEAZ” had responded to my post on “Strangers in the Nite.”
