Follow on Google News | (Houston,TX) March 11, 2010 Peter Cennamo of Trumatech announces investment in the algae biofuelsAlgae biofuel can be refined into a variety of fuels, including gasoline.
By: Barbara Klein Numerous organizations have been conducting applied research in the growth, harvest and extraction of oil from algae to find the most productive species for the production of biofuel. With 5,000 acres in production, it would produce half of the diesel fuel required for the state of New Mexico or 25 million gallons of biodiesel fuel. It’s one thing to have success in a beaker. It’s another thing to replicate that in quantities large enough to sustain an industry. Another plus, unlike ethanol produced from grains, fuel produced from algae can be stored in the same tanks, shipped through the same pipelines and run in the same engines as traditional fuel without any necessary modifications. It also takes less energy to refine."This new technology is an important and promising step toward addressing the global warming problem, and we’re pleased to be part of it", adds Cennamo. # # # About Trumatech Trumatech is a developer and marketer of high quality energy efficient environmental technology, from energy management controls for freeze protection and temperature management applications to pressurization systems for satellite and microwave transmission lines.
