Peter Braumuler and Brandon Mathews to chair Hanson Wade’s MicroInsurance Summit 2010

March 11, 2010 - PRLog -- Hanson Wade announced today that Peter Braumüller, Chair, Executive Committee, International Association of Insurance Supervisors (IAIS) and Managing Director, Insurance and Pensions, Austrian Financial Market Authority (FMA) and Brandon Mathews, Head of Emerging Consumer Microinsurance, Zurich Financial, are both to chair at Hanson Wade’s MicroInsurance Summit, May 26-27, 2010, Marriott South Beach, Miami.

Peter Braumüller began his professional career in insurance supervision in 1983, and was appointed Director for Insurance Supervision at the Austrian Ministry of Finance in 1999.  For many years, Peter Braumüller is actively involved in a number of international institutions: in addition to his position as Chair of the Executive Committee of the International Association of Insurance Supervisors (IAIS), he is currently teaching insurance supervision law at several universities and has published various books and articles on supervision-related topics.

Before joining Zurich Financial in 2007 as Head of Emerging Consumer Microinsurance, Brandon Mathews championed microinsurance within AIG, presenting on the subject to AIG’s CEO and Business Division CEOs and participating in working groups on microinsurance distribution and operations. Brandon is a frequent speaker on associated topics, and has worked with numerous governmental and non-governmental organizations to bring the benefits of modern risk management to traditionally underserved populations. He is also a member of the Microinsurance Innovation Facility’s Steering Committee, an Observer in the IAIS-CGAP Joint Working Group on Microinsurance, and a member of the American Council on Germany.

MicroInsurance Summit 2010 is the only conference with a commercial focus on the growth of the micro insurance market.
