An evening of elegance aboard the Orient Express to benefit local hunger relief on April 27

Purchase your ticket for this culinary journey from Paris to Istanbul prepared by local chefs, take part in live and silent auction while supporting of seven food banks located in Southern Ocean County.

March 11, 2010 - PRLog -- No need to pack your bags for this extraordinary journey;  multiple courses of inspired dishes from  Paris, Strasbourg, Zurich, Munich, Vienna, Budapest, Bucharest, Istanbul, Athens and Milan will be served to guests throughout the evening as you travel across the continent and beyond during "A Night Aboard the Orient Express", a Taste of Southern Ocean Hunger Relief dinner featuring popular area chefs and restaurants. "This is the fiftteenth year that we have held this fundraiser" says event  co-chair Dan Taylor of GA Anderson Agency. "We have an exciting night planned."

The Southern Ocean County Chamber of Commerce,  the Southern Ocean County Community Foundation and area businesses are bringing together an exciting auction featuring, professional football and baseball tickets, golf foursomes,U2 Concert tickets, a private air plane ride and distinctive items for use at home or for giving. Tuckerton Seaport generously donated a boat building class ofering the winner to build a garvey under the supervision of a mastercraftsman. In honor of the 15th year, orignial art work will be available for auction, including the painting that was used for this year's promotion, a colorful but mysterious interpertation of the Orient Express itself.

The event will be held at Sea Oaks Country Club, Little Egg Harbor  beginning at 5:30pm on Tuesday, April 27. The ticket price remains the same as the past two years at $125 per person and features Chefs from Buckalew's, Copper Fish, Country Kettle Chowda, La Spiaggia, Pinziminio, Sea Oaks, The Grapevine, Scojo's, Plate, Ocean County VoTech, and 217 East Main presenting dishes from exotic cities along the train's route.


In 2009 with generous donations from Southern Ocean County Chamber of Commerce members and Atlantic City Electric $52,000 was collected and distributed to Tuckerton, Long Beach Island, Manahawkin, Barnegat, Waretown and Lacey.
