March 10, 2010 - PRLog -- Distilleria Bottega is proud to announce its participation at the Vancouver Paralympics Winter Game as a wine supplier for the special events organized by the Italian Paralympics Committee (IPC). Bottega will be providing two of its more exclusive wines (Bottega Gold  and Il Vino dei Poeti Cuvee’) at the Westin Resort in Whistler and at the Ballrom Restaurant, which is located at the Italian Cultural Center in Vancouver.

Bottega Gold will be served at the opening ceremonies in Vancouver on March 13th and in Whistler on March 11th. Among the invited guests of the IPC events are Andrea Meloni, Italian Ambassador in Canada, Francesco de Conno, Italian consul in Vancouver, Rocco Crimi, Undersecretary to the Presidency of the Council with Proxy to Sports and Marco Fabio Sartori, Inail President.

This will be the 10th edition of the Winter Paralympics with the participation of 54 nations competing in 5 different sports: hockey, biathlon, curling, alpine skiing and cross-country skiing. The Italian team consists of 35 athletes.

Bottega Gold will be served in British Columbia for the first time since Distilleria Bottega started exporting its products in Canada. This wine will be in fact officially presented at the Paralympics, because the product will start selling in BC only in a few months. Bottega Gold is actually sold only in Ontario.

Bottega Gold is a special Prosecco, which features an exceptionally aromatic bouquet. This wine comes from a selection of grapes picked in the Prosecco area of the Treviso province, located in Eastern Veneto. This wine has an intriguing symphony of tastes of Golden apple, pineapple and mango. The gilding of the bottle, besides its aesthetic impact, serves to protect the wine against any source of light, keeping the features of the Prosecco unchanged for over 12 months.
