March 8, 2010 - PRLog -- Lexington, Mass. – March, 2010 – Ipswitch, Inc.’s Network Management division, developer of the WhatsUp Gold suite of innovative network management solutions, today announced it has strengthened its federal sales initiative with new intellectual capital and targeted product development aimed at meeting government sector IT needs.
As part of its federal sector expansion, the network management division has named Tom D’Errico as Director of Government Sales, a new position developed to focus on the needs of government agencies. D’Errico brings more than 18 years of experience in federal contract negotiating and sales.
Ipswitch’s WhatsUp Gold products were originally designed by a member of the network management team at the United States Military Academy at West Point to meet the need for an easy-to-use, high-visibility solution for managing mission-critical networks. That founding principal is just one of the reasons WhatsUp Gold continues to address the needs of virtually every agency in the federal government, the largest single IT customer in the world and an important and unique market with enormous opportunities for revenue growth. Ipswitch’s WhatsUp Gold network monitoring and management products are particularly well suited for addressing the high-volume and intensely secure networks of both defense and civilian agencies including the Department of Homeland Security, Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) and all branches of the U.S. military.
“The government market has given Ipswitch’s Network Management division its largest wins to date and the level of interest in our solutions is at an all time high,” said Pat Loring, Vice President of Sales, Ipswitch, Inc.’s Network Management division. “Tom D’Errico brings a proven track record of selling and consulting with federal government channels, integrators and resellers and we are pleased to welcome him aboard. Tom’s expertise in this sector aligns perfectly with our expansion into government sales and his experience in successfully closing large enterprise licenses will benefit the company moving forward,” Loring said.
Ipswitch, Inc.’s Network Management division recently announced that it experienced record growth and profitability in 2009 and stated its commitment to delivering the highest possible level of product usability, features and functionality for WhatsUp Gold customers in 2010.
“I am excited to lead the division’s efforts to meet the needs of the federal government,” D’Errico said. “The call for a powerful, easy-to-use network management and monitoring tool delivered by a fiscally sound, U.S.-based organization is critical for many government IT departments, and with Ipswitch’s continued product innovation and unique licensing model, the company is perfectly positioned to accommodate sensitive federal contract requirements,” D’Errico said.
