Exclusive Entertainment Perfect Complement To Marine Industry At Dubai International Boat Show

15 Global Launches, 25 Regional Premiers, the Most Beautiful Superyachts in the World to Attract Tens of Thousands of Visitors; World Wakeboarding Champion, Mermaid Fashion Competition and UK Band High on Heels Offer Luxury Entertainment
March 8, 2010 - PRLog -- The 18th Dubai International Boat Show will open tomorrow with live entertainment, hundreds of beautiful boats and design competitions to celebrate the leisure marine industry in Dubai.

The Dubai International Boat Show takes place at the Dubai International Marine Club (DIMC) from 9 – 13 March 2010.

The show is open to the general public who will enjoy getting up close and personal with some of the most expensive boats in the world, while enjoying demonstrations for the world wakeboarding champion Nick Davies, live music, an exclusive bubble lounge, and for the first time, a beautiful mermaid fashion competition, sponsored by Desert Fish magazine.

More than 400 boats will also be on display, with 27 superyachts, 15 global launches and 25 regional premiers. There is great anticipation in the industry that the Dubai International Boat Show will be the catalyst for improved growth during the coming year.

“As well as playing a big part in bringing the industry together, the Dubai International Boat Show is one of the social events of the year,” said Trixee Loh, Senior Vice President, Dubai World Trade Centre. “The show offers five spectacular days of entertainment, set in luxurious surroundings, for people to come and enjoy everything the marine industry has to offer, and be educated on the latest products and boats in the market.”

As well as the serious business of new launches and buying the latest boats, the latest celebrity band from the UK, High on Heels, will be performing for the first time in the GCC, and fans will be able to enjoy the Café Del Mar atmosphere from the sumptuous bubble lounge.

The Mermaid fashion competition will be contested by four leading designers who will each create one-of-a-kind pieces which will be displayed at the show and photographed by the founder of desert fish magazine and acclaimed fashion photographer Peter Richweisz. Leading designers from the region include Debi Simcox of Sartori Sartori; Dmitri; Mona Fares of neon Edge and Esmod French Fashion Students will be vying to have their winning design featured on the cover of the following issue.

There will also be many features to excite the crowds, including the world launch of the JETLEV-FLYER, a recreational jetpack designed to let the user experience the fascination of flying like a bird up to 10 metres in the air and traveling at spectacular speeds.

The Dubai International Boat Show also incorporates a dedicated dive village as part of DMEX, the Middle East’s only dedicated dive exhibition, alongside the new Superyacht Pavilion, a Superyacht Boulevard presenting yachts over 25 metres, exclusive corporate hospitality and VIP Majlis areas.

Other exciting highlights include visitors prize draws from Al Yousef (Yamaha), Asis Boats and Leisure Marine and a DTCM Heritage Village.

Many of the world’s most recognisable leisure marine companies are taking parting this year’s show, including Al Boom Marine, Al Hareb Marine, Al Masaood, Al Yousef (Yamaha), AMIT, ART Marine, Danish Yachts, Emirates Boats, Gulf Craft, Leisure Marine, Macky Marine, Platinum Yachts, Sunseeker Middle East, Trinity Yachts and Westport.

They are joined by many new companies at this year’s Dubai International Boat Show, including Al Hallami Group, Smart Own and Wake Up Performance.

Visitors to this year’s Dubai International Boat Show will be able to gain easy access to the venue by taking one of the regular shuttle buses from the Mall of Emirates or boarding a Water Taxi being provided by the RTA from close to the Habtoor Grand Hotel.

The Dubai International Boat Show 2010 will take place at Dubai International Marine Club – Mina Seyahi from 9 – 13 March 2010. The show is open to trade visitors and general public, from 3pm – 9.30pm daily.

Admission is AED 55 per person for all attendees without an invitation and tickets are available at the Dubai International Marine Club.
