MIAMI ACTING STUDIO”, Miami’s Premier Professional Acting School Opens in Wynwood Art District

March 6, 2010 - PRLog -- “Miami Acting Studio”, Miami’s first professional acting school, located 2628 nw 2nd Avenue, Miami, FL 33127, will host an opening cocktail reception on Saturday, March 13, 2010 from 7-10pm during the Wynwood 2nd Saturday Art Walk. Founded by Ralph Kinnard, celebrated acting coach, filmmaker & keynote speaker, his brainchild, the Miami Acting Studio boasts a unique approach to performance for aspiring & working actors, directors, and TV & radio hosts.

Kinnard’s ground-breaking hybrid form of acting instruction is a culmination of his years of study titled “I-METHOD” combining the Lee Strasberg Method, NLP (neuro-linguistic programming), EI (Emotional Intelligence) and accelerated learning. The “Miami Acting Studio”, curriculum is designed for both aspiring and professional actors from teens through adults and features Kinnard’s unique “I-METHOD”. All classes are offered in English and Spanish and on a pay-as-you-go basis. Acceptance into the program requires a casting session and written essay, with a focus on personal strengths & past experiences, as Kinnard’s philosophy is to offer one-on-one attention, realizing everyone is unique & different.

Ralph Kinnard is a young, experienced director who recently arrived in Miami with a suitcase filled with years of experience & training in Munich, London & New York City. Honing his skills with his experiences at The Lee Strasberg Theater Institute, The Actor’s Studio, and more than a decade in Venezuela with renowned stars Mimi Lazo, Marjorie de Sousa, Juan Pablo Raba, Indhira Serrano and many more, Kinnard has penned the critically acclaimed acting book, “Steps to Acting” (“La Actuacion paso a paso,”) and has performed countless speaking engagements as a keynote & motivational speaker to major corporations such as Bayer, Deutsche Bank, Banco Central Universal, Kraft, Mastercard, and more.

He has studied in Germany at the “Andy Geer” Studio, in London with the icon of performance art Philippe Gaulier and completed his studies of film at the New York University, SCPS. His experience includes the production “Flushed” (NYC 1996), “Into my Heart” (NYC 1998) for the BBC “Transgressions” (NYC 1996) and for the German Columbia Tri-Star Co-Production “Sausages” (NYC 1997). He directed short films such as “Brotherlove” (New York 1996), “Slipped” (NYC 2007) and “Oda a la Mujer” (CCS, 2000). His short film “Ausente” (Caracas 2007) was selected for the Los Angeles Short Film Festival in 2007.

In theater, he directed “Buscando a Strindberg” (CCS 2000) and “Shakespeare Interactivo” (CCS 2001). He has worked on Latin American Soaps for Venevisión and RCTV and as an acting coach for lead actors. His recently directed film, “A Mi Me Gusta”, the first Venezuelan romantic comedy in years, was just named as an official screening selection at the upcoming San Diego Latino Film Festival March 15,16 & 21, 2010.
