DFW Assistant Port Director to Speak at Global Import Training Seminar

The International Trade Center’s award winning Global Market Series-Import Training now offered in webinar/seminar formats welcomes expert Sue-Ann Linnemann, Assistant Port Director DFW to speak on topics dealing with Customs and Border Protection.

March 8, 2010 - PRLog -- The Global Market Series-Import Certification, an award winning seven part series presented by industry experts and certified by the Institute for Supply Management, Dallas, will be available by webinar/seminar for the first time and will feature Sue-Ann Linnemann, Assistant Port Director for Trade Port of DFW. She will be speaking, March 11th and address Customs & Border Protection (CBP) requirements for importing. Attendees can participate in person or via webinar.

Sue-Ann Linnemann, a thirty two year veteran of CBP, is the Assistant Port Director at the Port of Dallas/Fort Worth for Customs & Border Protection. Previous assignments include International Trade Manager and Assistant District Director, Dallas and various positions in Nogales, AZ. She has extensive experience in providing training to all aspects of the importing community in topics such as NAFTA, valuation and classification, Bioterrorism Act and the Automated Manifest System.

The Import seminar series welcomes other leading industry experts on related topics including: how to establish a decision making process to compare outsourcing options; how to determine landed costs; the key components and best practices in international supply chain management; how the use of an FTZ might work for your company or product; the role of a customs broker and freight forwarder; the most common international payment mechanisms; the legal agreements and forms used in an import purchase transaction and become familiar with  C-TPAT and other current compliance topics.

The complete Import Session Series dates are March 11, 18 and 25, 2010.
