March 3, 2010 - PRLog -- ONE NIGHT ONLY

TRS' production of I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change is a crowd-pleasing hit that played a limited run of 10 performances in San Pedro at Warner Grand Theatre, and on "tax day", April 15, will be performing for one night only in Orange County at the Muckenthaler Cultural Center beginning at 7:00 PM.

From cringing first dates to bedtime shenanigans, this hilarious musical revue charts the highs and lows of the dating game. A collage of quirky snapshots turns the mirror on our own love lives, offering a sneaky peek beyond the altar and beneath the bedroom comforter. A bold comic design complements Jimmy Roberts' innovative score and Joe DiPietro's witty dialogue, with plenty of laughs and a few tears too. The show had been a long-running hit off-Broadway until 2008 when it closed after over 5000 performances.

Starring Kristin Towers-Rowles, Shaina Zalma, Melissa Villasenor, Kenneth Taylor, Paul Rorie and Ray Buffer, - I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change opens at the dawn of humankind with these six actors in hooded robes. They talk of woman. They talk of man. And they immediately realize there's going to be a problem. The action zips ahead thousands of years to an array of eternally resilient singles trying to connect. As the characters age they sing about babies, car trips with relatives and entering middle to geriatric age.

"Its Seinfeld set to music," said the Star-Ledger of this Off-Broadway hit, while Fox TV called it, "lively and funny," and Gannett Newspapers declared it "the most entertaining show on or off Broadway!" while Press Telegram/Daily Breeze promises: "You will not leave the theatre unsatisfied."  With six actors playing over 40 roles, I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change reveals everything you've secretly thought about dating, romance, marriage, lovers, husbands, wives, and in-laws, but were afraid to admit!

Directed by Richard Taylor with Music Direction and Piano by Jeanette Louis-Yaryan, and Viola by Adrian Wong; Costume Design by Kara McLeod; Choreography by Lindsey Taylor; Lighting Design by Richard Taylor; Set Design by Phil Buono, and Sound Design by Jeremy Plankey.

About Muckenthaler Cultural Center
Located atop a sprawling hill in Fullerton, California, the Muckenthaler home is a testament to the design of architect Frank Benchley.   The Italian Renaissance-style estate is reminiscent of buildings constructed for San Diego’s extraordinary 1915 Exposition in Balboa Park. Commissioned at an original cost of $35,000, the Muckenthaler home was built by Walter and Adella Muckenthaler in 1924. The 18-room mansion was later donated to the city in 1965 by Harold Muckenthaler, who wished to see his childhood home used as a cultural center for the public to enjoy. In 1999 the Muckenthaler mansion received designation by the National Register of Historic Places.
