What Solforge does not do are songs about guns,driving too fast,drugs one night stands--get the point? "We are trying to capture that sultry Southern style but present at the same time,hey we are all grown men who fish,work have families you know regular people who just believe that maybe there is just a little bit too much of that other stuff out their." When pressed by what he means by "other stuff" he shrugs and continues. "Ther is a lot of music I like,Secular,Christian Blues ect.., but you know when you become more popular because of a negative image which you portray,more or less sell you soul to be popular,thats a problem" "There is just way too much,bling,easy money --just negative images". "There is just more to sing about in the world than portrayed in all that and one of those topics is how in a hurting and dying world one still has hope in the person of Jesus Christ" "As I am often fond of saying I will sing about almost anything--but I will not put jst anything in my song". They do not stand alone in this sentament. As earlier stated the business is booming with groups such as Skillet,Casting Crowns and Amy Grant all having sold records in the millions. So the next time you are on a CD isle or on the internet check out some a little more closely the names that are "Crossover",meaning accepted on the Christian and Secular sides of the isle. For example "Skillet" had the rank of 45 for all album sales in the US last year and if sales continue it will not just be a trend. So if your a parent or otherwise concerned citizen who wonders "hey where did all that good Rock and Roll go?.--No where it's just been renamed. End
