March 2, 2010 - PRLog -- Following the success and popularity of recently published book “Churchills ,the family portrait “ Barbara Hamilton’s Portrait Academy is pleased to announce the first portrait drawing/painting contest in the memory of world historically significant leader, sir Winston Churchill. The aim of the competition is to educate and encourage a broad awareness and appreciation of portrait drawing as a worthy element in the history of art and history in general. The judging panel for the competition Award comprises: Barbara Hamilton, Celia & John Lee the authors of “Churchills the family portrait” book, official representative of W.Churchill family and artist Magdalena Rutkowska The judging panel will then select a shortlist of up to 20artists, which will be announced in early April. The overall winners from both age groups will be announced at a gala event in Devon Tapeley Park Manor on 24th April 2010.
The winner of the portrait competition will be awarded with the certificate and the book signed by all members of the jury. The winning portraits will be published and attached to limited number of the published books. Each of the remaining shortlisted artists will also receive certificate. All of the selected artists will be invited to take part in the final portrait exhibition in the end of the year 2010
