March 2, 2010 - PRLog -- Management at the Integr8 Group, South Africa’s largest privately owned national BEE ICT network integration and infrastructure management specialist, have taken a step closer to a decade of successful operation with the recent celebration of the company’s ninth year of success within this ultra-competitive marketplace.

On Mach 01 management and staff at the company toasted its ninth anniversary. Whilst the significance of the moment was poignant said Robert Sussman, co-founder and joint CEO, it did offer all stakeholders in the business an opportunity to reflect on how much has taken place in what is relatively a short space of time.

“Two thousand and one was a very significant year. America Online Time Warner was formed; the first commercial 3G network was launched in Japan and Wikkipedia published its first page. The Patriot Act was enacted following the September eleven attacks in the United States, Google made its very first public acquisition and Enron filed for chapter eleven bankruptcy,” said Sussman.

Sussman and his colleagues agree that whilst 2001 was a historically momentous year, its significance was boosted by the formation of what would emerge as one of the continent’s more formidable ICT services companies.

“Despite the shaky market, the world still reeling from the aftershocks of the dotcom crash, a few rather large service companies having a virtual stranglehold on the local market, Integr8 was firmly established,” adds Sussman. “Since then we have grown from strength to strength. We now employ over four hundred and fifty full-time staff, we operate out of six offices across Africa and we are recognised as a preferred partner by some of the world’s largest and most respected ICT companies.”

Sussman suggests that nine years down the line, the world has undergone radical change. “In that time one trillion web pages have been created; two out of every three people in the world now own a cellphone and one hundred and sixty billion songs have been downloaded – eight billion of those were in fact bought beforehand. As of early February this year, Google has acquired sixty one companies.”

As the executive management and staff look to the future, there is a strong sense of purpose and commitment that continues to filter throughout the business. The company’s direction, firm grip on the market and service delivery is depicted strongly in its new website that went live recently. It includes the very best social media component available, designed by the company’s development arm.

“It has been a very busy nine years, and we think it would be remiss of us not to take a moment to reflect on our journey. It was the American educationalist and writer, Peter F. Drucker, who said: ‘Follow effective action with quiet reflection. From the quiet reflection will come even more effective action’ - if anything is true of the team at Integr8, we are certainly set on still more effective action!,” Sussman concludes.
