March 1, 2010 - PRLog -- LiteCure is the developer and manufacturer of the LCT-1000 Deep Tissue Therapy Laser which received FDA 510K clearance for pain management in March 2007. Since the product’s introduction to the market it has been a resource for medical professionals who treat pain and inflammation. Laser therapy gives medical professionals a surgery-free, drug-free, non-invasive method for reducing pain and inflammation and increasing microcirculation. The immediate relief laser therapy provides and the high energy output of the LCT-1000 has made deep tissue laser therapy an integral component of the treatment plan for many professional athletes.

The LCT-1000 is a valuable tool for physical therapists, pain doctors, orthopedists, and athletic trainers and is often used in sports rehabilitation centers and wellness facilities. Across the U.S. and Canada there are 15 professional sports teams who rely on the therapeutic and pain relieving treatment of the LCT-1000 prior to and post training sessions and games. In addition to the routine use of the therapy laser with professional sports teams, the LCT-1000 was also used in the 2009 Beijing Olympics by the U.S. Men’s and Women’s Basketball teams as well as the U.S. and Canadian Equestrian teams for the riders and the sister product, the Pegasus Therapy Laser® was used to treat the horses.

Ed Ryan, Head Trainer for USA Basketball and former USA Olympic Medical Director says of the LTC-1000, “This is clearly one of the most effective modalities I have used in my career.”

Athletic trainers for major league baseball teams like the Chicago White Sox, Milwaukee Brewers, and the Toronto Blue Jays depend on the immediate and long lasting effects of laser therapy treatment to ensure that the muscle fibers and circulation to the shoulders and arms of pitchers are stimulated and not inflamed during practice and games. The laser also serves as a healing modality should players incur injuries, strains, or sprains.

Dr. Sean Zarzana is a rehabilitation and sports medicine chiropractic specialist in Atlanta who frequently treats professional athletes from the Wizards, Hawks, Timberwolves, and LA Lakers. He believes in the “whole person approach” and has used laser therapy to augment other treatments for pain throughout his career. In describing the evolution of laser technology, Dr. Zarzana states, “There is a night and day difference between Class III laser therapy and that of the LiteCure Class IV. When I learned there was a laser that could truly speed up the treatment process better and faster, I had to have it. The LiteCure delivers a noticeable therapy and people know that healing is taking place.” It is the efficacy of this technology that appeals to Dr. Zarzana and his clients. The LiteCure therapy laser is part of a comprehensive treatment plan that helps cure pain and get clients back to the game—or their normal daily activities—as soon as possible.

Laser and light technology has been available for over 30 years and the Class IV deep tissue therapy that the LCT-1000 provides is a scientifically based therapeutic modality that allows for shorter treatment times and increased clinical outcomes. In addition, LiteCure developed the patented Massage Ball hand piece that allows for a soothing massage to be delivered while the laser therapy is taking place. LiteCure is committed to educating and training medical professionals and athletic trainers to use the LCT-1000 as part of comprehensive treatment plan or as a standalone solution for treating pain and inflammation. LiteCure experts provide in-office demonstrations of the product, clinical support, and the industry’s only therapy laser specific published materials.
