Stalknecht, ACCA President & CEO. “TAG is one of these finalists who represent some of the most unique business approaches in the industry, and our panel of past chairmen who are judging were impressed by TAG's business model and success over 21 years in Syracuse, NY and were glad to include them among the finalist selected.” The finalist for ACCA's Contractor of the Year Award will be announced during the 2010 Convention being held from March 7 through 9 in Tampa, FL. # # # About TAG Mechanical Systems, Inc. George Galek and Steve Tallman founded TAG Mechanical Systems in August of 1988. The business started in a humble way; a 8' x 10' office space in Steve's home, a garage, and a building that was affectionately called "the chicken coop." These three buildings were the extent of TAG's facilities. Later, after TAG's business grew, a real "shop" was purchased on Court Street Road in Syracuse, NY in 1990. TAG operated from this location for the next 12 years. However, George and Steve found that, even though they had doubled the size of this facility over those 12 years, it still didn't provide the space that the business required to adequately serve TAG's customer base.
