Kidproof Canada® Celebrates Feature Franchise

Feb. 24, 2010 - PRLog -- Nancy began her adventure as a Kidproof Canada® franchisee because she is a “true believer in empowering children by giving them the skills and information to feel confident about their safety.”

Nancy draws on her extensive experience as a Child and Youth Care Worker to help manage her Kidproof Canada® franchise. “It's helped me in the sense that I can go into a room and immediately make a connection,” she says. “I strive to tailor the class to each child, and to build a one-on-one rapport.”

Her favourite moment? It actually came the night before our Feature Franchise interview with Nancy! “I was teaching an At Home Alone class, and a girl asked if she could stay – she was having so much fun she didn't want to leave!” She adds that At Home Alone is her favourite class to teach, because it begins with an interactive game that engages the whole class.

But, even though Nancy loves having fun with the kids, she also recognizes the serious value that Kidproof's child safety education programs bring to the community. “I would say anybody who leaves a Kidproof program comes away safer,” she says. “They may not see it right away, but they can draw on it in real life situations if they ever need it. That is invaluable. And, it's not done in a way where the kids are scared – they're more confident.”

It's not only the kids who are grateful that Kidproof has arrived in Woodstock! The entire community loves the fact that Kidproof's famous child safety courses are accessible to them thanks to Kidproof Canada® and Nancy. “I've had so much community support,” she says. “It's been amazing. We're seen as more rural, and often, people have to go to bigger communities to take advantage of this stuff. So, they are very happy to see the programs offered here.”

Going forward, Nancy's goal is to continue teaching children of all different ages, and to increase her presence in schools so she can share Kidproof's child safety education programs with as many kids as possible.
