Southwest Airlines Make Beach Travel Easier

Feb. 24, 2010 - PRLog -- Southwest Airlines announced plans for direct flights to Panama City Beach's new Northwest Florida Beaches International Airport from four major markets starting May of 2010! The added service will open up the destination to visitors throughout the Midwest, Northeast, and Southwest regions of the United States.

The airline's special fare offer starts at just $49 each way starting May 23rd to select destinations! Flight schedule details for the new Northwest Florida Beaches International Airport, beginning May 2010, will include direct flights to:

• Houston
• Orlando
• Nashville
• Baltimore/Washington

The state-of-the-art airport is being designed with multiple eco-conscious features and will be developed in conjunction with a massive nature preserve that will feature Florida's largest expanse of undeveloped coastline and showcase the region's phenomenal natural beauty. The airport will also offer a 10,000 foot runway, the only one of this length in Northwest Florida. The length of the runway is designed to allow larger jets and commercial aircraft of any size to be able to land more easily. This will be the 1st International airport built in the United States since Sept. 11, 2001 and will be the first "Green" airport.

Panama City Beach will be the 69th destination to join the network of the nation's largest domestic airline, Southwest Airlines!  The new Northwest Florida Beaches International Airport is located only minutes away from the Holiday Inn Resort on Panama City Beach.
