Reverse High Cholesterol with Natural Medicine and Natural Living

High cholesterol is characterized by a total cholesterol level over 200, an LDL (Low-density lipoprotein)
Naturopathic Medicine is a natural medicine model that emphasizes the identification and treatment of the root cause of disease in order to permanently restore health. Conventional and alternative diagnostic testing is used to evaluate the root cause of disease symptoms. Diet and lifestyle modifications are then prescribed in adjunct with appropriate nutrients, botanicals, homeopathics and natural hormones, which enable healing of the affected areas of the body.
“My first step is to remove sugars and flours ¬– such as cereals, pancakes, muffins, bagels, bread, pasta and crackers – from the diet because they all raise total cholesterol levels, LDL levels and Triglyceride levels. I take my patients off processed foods and foods with trans fats and replace those foods with whole, organic foods. I prescribe essential fatty acids such as fish oil, flax oil, avocado oil and coconut oil. I request that my patients add regular exercise to their routine. And I use supplements such as plant sterols to decrease absorption of dietary cholesterol and pantothene to help with lipid metabolism,”
