Recording Artist Etcetera to Receive 2010 Young, Gifted & Black Entrepreneurial Award

Feb. 22, 2010 - PRLog -- NEW YORK, NY - Recording Artist Etcetera, Founder and Chairman of IDOL MUSIC GROUP and TEAM IDOL, has been selected to receive this year’s Young, Gifted & Black (YGB) Entrepreneurial Award for his impact in the community by helping many young men and women excel in the area of sports and academics, which ultimately became success stories in Brooklyn, NY.

Carl O. Gray, President and CEO, The NetLinkz Group, Inc., and Founder of Unified Network of Business Professionals, will be presenting the YGB Entrepreneurial Award to Recording Artist Etcetera for his talent, ambition and achievements toward the “Continued Pursuit of Success.”

The YGB Entrepreneurial Award ceremony will be held on Wednesday, February 24, 2010 at 7 p.m. at the Tribeca Rooftop located at 2 Desbrosses Street, New York City.  Hosted by comedians, Talent of 98.7 Kiss FM (2006 YGB Honoree) and Drew Fraser (2008 YGB Honoree) who performed on HBO's Bad Boys of Comedy, Def Comedy Jam and BET Comic View.

In honor of this special milestone, the YGB Entrepreneurial Awards is a strong supporter of Census 2010 and welcomes Lester A. Farthing, New York State Regional Director of the Census Bureau as its Keynote Speaker, and has partnered with Reversing the Projections, Inc., which inspires and assists youth to overcome the negative elements that impact their lives, and the Nina Simone Foundation to recognize the artistic contributions of the famed songstress with two YGB Entrepreneurial Awards given in her honor.

ABOUT ETCETERA

ETCETERA, self acclaimed as the Brooklyn Boy Wonder, hit the ground running, first with a string of underground hits, placing him as one of the top underground chart toppers, as well as establishing himself as a song writer, not only for his personal projects but for other artist as well. Etcetera’s work has always been diversity filled. He is an artist that is a student of hip hop and feels that music is from the heart. This was highly displayed with the 2004 hip-hop rock release “OH NO” which landed him the substantial credibility to become a member of the National Recording Academy and placed him in a three category ballot running for a 47th Annual Grammy Award and he has not stopped since. This is an added an ongoing chapter to the ETCETERA saga. The success of this artist continued with his work being premiered in TV pilots, movie trailers, appearing on multiple features and more. ETCETERA has accomplished hurdles far beyond his expectations. Coming from a local studio in Crown Heights Brooklyn, with producers that developed some of the hottest and legendary artist in the game today, whom which he looked up to, to now being added to that list is an honor.
 
Outside of being an artist, he spends his time investing in the lives of young men and women therefore creating “TEAM IDOL”. “TEAM IDOL” was originated as a nickname for IDOL MUSIC GROUP team and has now bloomed into so much more.  In 2006 TEAM IDOL became the moniker of a movement determined to help keep one young man in school by sponsoring him in his skateboard venture. Today, TEAM IDOL has now developed into an athletic division that co-sponsors and co-manages athletes in the areas of skateboarding and female basketball, for now. TEAM IDOL is in the process of assembling athletes that are admirable competitors, but not well publicized and bring them to the vanguard of their sports division. The concept began with the founder of TEAM IDOL, believing that if you develop character, self-esteem, assertiveness and humility, this will make for an exceptional and effective athlete.
