Rollerbladers for Charity skate into Alabama on their Way to California

Feb. 16, 2010 - PRLog -- FORT MORGAN, Alabama – Tonight, February 16, 2010, two athletes will enter Alabama as part of a national fundraising campaign before continuing their journey towards San Diego, California. In their project called “In Motion For A Million”, the athletes will rollerblade across the USA in an attempt to raise one million dollars for Huntington’s Disease Society of America and the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.

Dan Bowen, co-founder of In Motion For A Million is pleased with the overall effort so far. “We’ve just traveled the extent of Florida on rollerblades! Florida was amazing and we are so lucky to have raised as much as we have already.  As we’re getting ready to head into Alabama, we’re excited to not only discover the local culture, but to meet a sea of people who are backing us in our fight against two of the deadliest diseases.”

The team has already raised several thousand dollars in donations since their kick off in St. Augustine, Florida, on February 1, 2010. The athletes will be in Fort Morgan, Alabama tonight and skate through Dauphin Island, Alabama Port, Coden and Bayou le Batre to eventually take a rest in Grand Bay, Alabama on February 17.
