Feb. 16, 2010 - PRLog -- Bali - Karma Resorts announces DESIGN TWENTYTEN, an open participation design contest.

Designers can enter their work free of charge while site visitors can view the submissions on the site and vote for their favorites. At the end of the contest there will be one winner — and that person gets to see their design put into production on an exclusive line of K Boutique clothing.

Winning the contest will give the designer some serious exposure, as well as a choice of very nice prizes. The winner will receive a free three night stay for two persons at either Karma Jimbaran in Bali or at Karma Samui in Thailand, plus additional prizes. The value of the accommodation package alone is equal to US$ 1,750 (Karma Jimbaran) and US$ 1,950 (Karma Samui)!

Karma Group Creative Director Clinton Albuquerque stated “with Design Twentyten our goal is to inspire others to create great designs and to share those ideas. By providing a way for young or unknown designers to get their design work into actual production, we hope to provide exposure for the designer and perhaps even jumpstart someone’s design career. At the end of this contest, the winner will not only be able to say that they won, but also that their work is now in actual commercial production.”

Clinton continued, “by opening up the contest and soliciting votes from the public we hope to build a sense of community around this contest, to get more people involved, even if only as casual participants.”

The winner of DESIGN TWENTYTEN will be determined by two criteria: the public voting and the opinion of a panel of judges. The judges panel for this event is comprised of John Spence, the Owner and Chairman, Karma Royal Group, Richard Hallam, Karma Resorts Group Director, and Clinton Albuquerque, Group Creative Director.

For execution of the DESIGN TWENTYTEN concept, Karma Resorts turned to water&stone, a full service digital agency in Bali. water&stone, who also provide Karma with social media marketing services, designed and executed the contest website.

The DESIGN TWENTYTEN website is located at http://wecreate.karmaresorts.com. Design contest submissions open 17 February, with the voting continuing until mid May. The winner will be announced by the end of May.
