Kentucky Pageant Begins The 2010 Search

Miss Teen Kentucky-World 2010 and Miss Kentucky US International 2010 pageants will return to Somerset Kentucky on April 10th 2010. The program has now begun the search for girls throughout the region ages 5-25 to compete.

Feb. 14, 2010 - PRLog -- This spring, young women from every corner of the state between the ages of 9 and 25 will convene to compete for the titles of Little Miss Kentucky-World 2010, Junior Miss Kentucky-World 2010, Miss Teen Kentucky-World 2010 and Miss Kentucky US International 2010.  The winners in the Junior Teen division and the Teen division of the pageant, will move on to compete for the titles of Miss Teen United States-World and Junior Miss United States-World 2010, in Houston Texas.  Miss Kentucky US International 2010, will move on to compete for the title of Miss United States International.

The newly crowned, Miss Teen Kentucky-World will receive a prize package valued at over $7,000.   She will also become the next face of  the Lexington-based Bluegrass Fashion House.  The winner of the Junior Miss Kentucky-World 2010 Pageant will receive a prize package valued at over $3000.  Miss Teen Kentucky-World 2010 and Junior Miss Kentucky-World 2010 will both receive, as a part of their prize package, a haute couture evening gown by Kentucky fashion designer, Soreyda Begley.  The new and first-ever, Little Miss Kentucky-World 2010 pageant winner, will receive a prize package valued at $450.  She will also receivce her state crown, which is a smaller replica of the Miss Teen Kentucky-World crown.  Also, in the Little Miss division every little girl receives a crown.

The winner of the title for the Miss Kentucky US International Pageant 2010, will receive a prize package valued at over $7200.  She will, as a part of her prize package, win a $4,800 haute couture evening gown, by Soreyda Begley.  Miss Kentucky US International 2010 will move on to compete at Lake Fenton, Michigan, for the title of Miss United States International.  Miss United States International is a preliminary to Miss International, normally held in Japan.  The 2010 International pageant, host country is to be announced.  

Lisa Clark, of Frankfort Kentucky  and Whitney Terrell Graves, of Columbia Kentucky, direct this pageant together.  "What is different about this pageant, in comparison to other teen pageants, miss pageants or little miss pageants", says Clark, "is that it is not a winner take all event.  For the Teen and Miss divisions, the contestant who wins the optional academic achievement competition,  receives a $4,000 college scholarship offer from Georgetown College.  We want to acknowledge the young women of our state who are achievers and activators in their school and community, who have goals and wish to pursue higher education. "

The Miss Teen World organization is headed up by very well-known evening gown designer and makeup artist, Gaspar Cruz.  Miss Teen World has made it possible for the Miss Teen Kentucky-World organization to become a reality, and one of the most prestigious pageants in Kentucky. This year's venue is the Center For Rural Development in Somerset Kentucky.
