ID sees TV market as 'desert' instead of 'main course' at Berlin's EFM
ID Communications picks up “The Way of St-James” specialty documentary, at Berlin’s EFM . Montreal-based ID Communications views TV market as 'desert' instead of 'main course' for sales.

“Produced and directed by German filmmaker Volker Wischnowski, ‘The Way of St-James’ is beautifully shot in HD, and draws from a rich heritage of history and geography. We are thrilled to be working with Volker on this film, and today at the European Film Market in Berlin, we have concluded our worldwide distribution agreement. Santiago de Compostela has been a source of fascination and inspiration for more than a millennium, and if we have our way, it will continue for some time to come . ." said ID’s principal, Dan Shannon.
Normally attracting more than 100,000 visitors annually, Santiago de Compostela in Spain is expecting this year to draw an extimated 400,000 visitors due to special religious holiday timing in mid summer.
"Our company continues to take a position in niche markets where titles have a demonstrable following or core interest group that can be successfully targeted through a variety of online and direct marketing sales initiatives . In this case our producer has already recouped his production budget and he has not done a single TV deal. In fact we increasingly view traditional TV sales channels as 'the dessert' instead of the 'main course'.” Said Mr Shannon.
