Comedian/actor Peanutt launches comedy show ‘Escape from the Nutt House’ in L.A.

Feb. 12, 2010 - PRLog -- Comedian/actor Edward Darnell “Peanutt” Smith, best known for his comedic timing on the BET Comic View, is launching a comedy show “Escape from the Nutt House” to be held twice weekly at The Townhouse and The Oasis nightclubs in Los Angeles. Urban R&B singer/songwriter Dezell “Trueful” French performed at both launch dates. “Escape from the Nutt House” launched  Thursday, February 4, 2010 at The Oasis (3310 W. Manchester Avenue).

Peanutt caught the entertainment “bug” hanging with his father the late Eddie Smith - a well known actor/stuntman. His brother is comedian/actor Anthony “AJ” Johnson of “I Got the Hook Up with Master P,” “Baps” with Hallie Barry, and “Friday” with Ice Cube - where he plays Ezell.

Eventually Peanutt developed his own credentials appearing in such movies as the Miramax Film “Living the Life,” “Baller Blocker” with Lil’ Wayne and Juvenille; “The Night Watchman” with Keanu Reeves and The Game; “The Soloist” with Jamie Foxx and Robert Downey, Jr., and in “This Christmas” starring Chris Brown. Through it all he is always on tour for his comedy show often held in Los Angeles, Louisiana and Miami.

Trueful is gearing up for the release of his sophomore CD “Taste of Class” and is currently promoting the release of the first single, “Feeling you,” and its music video. The video features the comedic talents of Peanutt. Often compared to Usher Trueful debut CD “Truth Be Told” garnered him qualification status for a 2008 Grammy Award nomination for Best New Artist. His debut CD stayed amid 13-25 positioning on the music charts for nine weeks.
