One-man Show for Christopher M. to Debut Paintings Of Atlanta Top Chef Kevin Gillespie

Feb. 12, 2010 - PRLog -- Vinings Gallery is pleased to welcome contemporary artist Christopher M. to Atlanta for his second annual one-man show and receptions on Friday evening April 9 and Saturday April 10. While at Vinings Gallery, Christopher will create an original oil painting and will debut a series of paintings of great chefs of the world including Atlanta's own Top Chef contestant Chef Kevin Gillespie.

The weekend will culminate with a truly artistic pairing: A private wine dinner for collectors at Woodfire Grill on Sunday evening, April 11. This exclusive event will offer guests an intimate opportunity to engage with the artist and the chef while admiring the body of works that Christopher M. has created just for his visit to Atlanta.

Known as "The Painter of Chefs," Christopher M. aims to satisfy the viewer's appetite for fine art, fine food and fine wine with the unique splendor and vivid imagery of his paintings. In his early 30's, this young artist's appeal has grown throughout the world thanks to his uncanny ability to capture the good things in life. The artist elaborates: "My current series of paintings and prints are images of chefs in their restaurants, doing what they love to do and know how to do best. In a way, this work honors the people who have given me the experience of fine food and special evenings with the people that I care most about, my family and friends."

Christopher M. traveled to Atlanta in February to work with Chef Kevin Gillespie to create the new body of work that will debut with this show. The artist comments that the creative energy and action that take place in the kitchen and in the dining room, truly inspires him. And he adds:  “Every chef brings a unique element to the entire culinary experience and I enjoyed capturing Kevin’s own artistic process and fantastic energy on canvas.”

Chef Kevin Gillespie is nationally recognized as the chef/co-owner of Atlanta's award-winning restaurant Woodfire Grill. Most recently in the national spotlight, Gillespie earned a spot on Bravo’s Emmy and James Beard Award-winning series “Top Chef” for the show’s sixth season in Las Vegas in 2009. Proving to be a top contender, he stood out as one of this season’s final three chef-testants who competed for the “Top Chef” title in Napa Valley. Gillespie was also voted “fan favorite” by the viewers of “Top Chef.”

Christopher M's one-man show kicks off a month-long exhibition and will showcase the largest body of his original paintings available for sale anywhere in the world. "One thing that is important to me is that people remember to enjoy themselves and experience life to the fullest," he relates. The artist, who lives and works in his studio near San Diego, California, says that he looks forward to returning to Atlanta to share this passion for living and fine food, wine and great art with fans and collectors. The show will run through May 15.
