Construction Owners Association of America Launches Online Training Series

COAA expands its professional development offerings to include webinars and on-demand training that construction project owners can access from their desktops.

Feb. 11, 2010 - PRLog -- Atlanta, GA:   Construction Owners Association of America, (COAA) announced today the expansion of its Owner Training Institute (OTI) with a webinar and on demand training series. One of COAA's goals is to support project owners' success in the planning, design and construction of buildings by providing  educational content that addresses challenges and topics of relevance to building owners.

COAA's new webinar series offers online courses developed for owners by owners. The series will cover a broad range of topics important to construction project owners, such as Risk Management Strategies, Building Information Modeling, Project Delivery Methods, and more. The webinars are meant to provide continuous learning opportunities between COAA's Spring and Fall national conferences.

The first webinar "Insurance & Risk Management for Construction Project Owners" will take place on Wednesday, February 24th at 3 PM EST.  Registration is $99 for COAA Members and $149 for Non-Members. For details and registration link please visit http://www.coaa.org/Default.aspx?tabid=319.

COAA Education Committee Chair, Mike Kenig, Vice Chairman at Holder Construction says the new initiative is key to COAA's professional development goals. "We want to deliver our educational resources in ways that meet members' needs, particularly in the flexibility of learning options."

COAA President, Boyd Black, Assistant Vice President of Facilities Services, of the University of Chicago points out that "These webinars are developed by leading practitioners and cover the latest and best practices for various subjects." He added "Especially in these times of rapidly changing technology and expanding workloads the COAA webinars are an excellent way for owners and construction industry professionals to gain, refresh or augment their knowledge, skills and abilities on specific areas of professional practice."
